Kitchen Renovation Part 2: The Reveal

When we left off in part 1 of the kitchen renovation, the bulk of the work was done, it was just a matter of putting everything back together. With the backsplash and new counters in and the cabinets painted we just needed to replace the doors and drawer fronts, then add in the new hardware and new lighting!

Y’all. I love it SO much!

Everything really came together so beautifully at the end. Renovations are so stressful, seeing it all work like your vision is such a reward when you are finally finished.

As I mentioned previously, we kept the flooring and painted the cabinets Ballet White from Benjamin Moore. The marble herringbone backsplash turned out gorgeous, and the drawer pulls and knobs both in heritage brass (a splurge) really elevated the final look. The previous hardware was very cheap and poorly installed.

The sink was replaced along with the countertops and we opted for aged brass fixtures. We have one faucet for the regular sink water and an additional water dispenser to serve the reverse osmosis system that was already installed in the house when we purchased it. (And I love!)

I love the deep single sink and it has a nice little array of accessories (cutting board, drying rack, etc) that are very convenient.

We kept the light over the sink but replaced both the two lights over the kitchen island and the eat-in kitchen lighting, opting for lighter gold/bronze options that weren’t as heavy in the space. The island lighting (above) was adapted from can lights so the install was a little more work than normal but overall and easy fix for a big impact.

I really love the eat-in kitchen lighting with the fluted glass, it echoes the wooden fluting in the master bathroom vanity and just looks so pretty in the space.

Oh, and remember that bulky built-in desk? Now this space is opened up and makes the kitchen really feel bigger!
