I’m Melissa!

Welcome to South Georgia Style, we’re so glad you’ve found your way to our little corner of the internet. I’m Melissa and I love sharing my obsession for all things home and style!

While currently living in the Savannah, Georgia area, I am a South Carolina native and have been a professional blogger for 13 years. I started my blog The Happier Homemaker in 2011 and it has since grown to be a full–time job. You can read my blogging story here.

While I shared home inspiration and projects in the early days of the blog, with constant military moves it transformed over the years to focus more on recipes and homemaking tips. That’s why South Georgia Style was born! Here you’ll find all the fun DIY and home “stuff” that we still love!

I also runs the recipe website Shaken Together Life, which I took over in 2019 from a good friend.

I and my husband Randy (a retired Army officer and current teacher) have a passion for travel, having been stationed in both Italy and England during Randy’s military career. When we aren’t exploring the world we love working on their home and yard.
